From weaving to rise to empower weavers for a sustainable ASEAN future

When weaving was first launched, it began with a simple but strong mission: to lift the life of women’s weavers in East Nusa Tenggara by preserving the inheritance of traditional Indonesian hand textiles. What began as an initiative to empower grassroots under the Bumi Mandiri (IBM) since then grew into a recognized social company, empowering more than 700 women in five regions, increasing their productivity and income by 50%, and brought weaving Indonesia to the global stage – including features in Dubai Expo and MotoGP Mandik.

Through weaving, we not only create beautiful products – We help revive the dying traditions by re -introducing more environmentally friendly coloring techniques, modernizing marketing channels, and building sustainable livelihoods. We provide natural dyes training, financial literacy, product innovation, and market access. Draw to more than just a brand. It becomes a movement.

Portfolio weaving as an economic empowerment program

Introducing Rise: Scaling the Vision

Now, we are ready to increase this impact RISE: Rural Innovation for Sustainable EmpowermentThe 36-month initiative aimed at supporting 100 weaving groups led by women in 10 Indonesian provinces, with plans to expand to ASEAN countries where weaving is also part of cultural heritage.

RISE sets brave goals:

  • Empowering 2,000+ Women’s Weavers with modern skills and sustainable practice
  • Building 100 Natural Dyes Cultivation Plot
  • Develop 10 Weaving Entrepreneurs Ready to Export
  • Launch National Textile Gallery and E-Commerce Platform

With the initial discussion that has taken place with local partners in the Philippines, Rise aims to become a blueprint to preserve the livelihoods based on inheritance throughout ASEAN.

Regional approach for inheritance and innovation

Weaving is not unique only for Indonesia – it is a joint cultural asset throughout Southeast Asia. From Tie from Indonesia to Inabel In the Philippines, weaving traditions face the same threat: old craftsmen, not attractive from younger generations, and non -sustainable practices. Through RISE, we aim to build an empowered cross -border network, innovating responsibly while celebrating our culture with us.
